When I was 15, my summer job was coaching young kids in football. One day a 10-year-old and his dad approached me with a goal: make the JV team. The dad believed in him. The kid, not so much.
For eight weeks we worked together whenever we could. The biggest hurdle had nothing to do with technique. It was convincing him that he already had what it took. Once that clicked, everything else was easy. He made the team. As a thank you, he gave me a book and on the first page was a handwritten note that ended with thanks, coach.
Ten years later, I finally understood what that moment meant and why I decided to do what I do. Helping people live their best lives, in sports, health, work, it doesn't matter, it all starts with the human first.
My curiosity and drive has led me to many places. I've lived and worked across five countries, speak three languages, collected some endurance challenges along the way, met countless incredible people, started a podcast and ultimately rediscovered my immense joy of working as a coach.
I'm currently finishing my Master's in the Psychology of Coaching and Human Performance at the University of Sydney.
